Fallacy
A fallacy is an error in reasoning that leads to a false conclusion, even when it appears persuasive. Fallacies often exploit emotion, ambiguity, or assumptions rather than truth. Scripture warns against deceptive reasoning that sounds wise but is not.
Biblical Basis:
Colossians 2:4 — “I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments.”
Proverbs 18:13; Romans 1:22; 1 Corinthians 3:18–20
Theological Significance:
Fallacious reasoning can distort truth without openly rejecting it. Scripture repeatedly cautions against arguments that appear intelligent yet oppose God’s wisdom. Recognizing fallacies protects believers from being misled by confidence, rhetoric, or popularity.
How We Use It in DiscipleLife:
DiscipleLife trains readers to recognize common reasoning errors rather than react emotionally to arguments. We learn to slow down, examine logic, and test conclusions. This strengthens discernment and guards the journey from subtle deception.
