Waypoints
Waypoints are identifiable markers along a journey that confirm direction and progress. Spiritually, waypoints help locate where we are in relation to truth, growth, and obedience. They do not represent the destination, but provide guidance along the way.
Biblical Basis:
Joshua 4:6 — “That this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’”
Deuteronomy 6:12; Psalm 77:11; Philippians 1:6
Theological Significance:
Scripture frequently calls God’s people to remember what He has done and to mark moments of faithfulness. Waypoints serve as reminders of God’s guidance and provision, helping prevent forgetfulness and drift. They reinforce continuity in God’s work over time.
How We Use It in DiscipleLife:
DiscipleLife uses waypoints to help readers recognize progress without mistaking it for arrival. Each essay, reflection, or insight functions as a waypoint, not an endpoint. Waypoints encourage perseverance and reorientation as the journey continues.
