A Better Resolution for the New Year
I’ve made more New Year’s resolutions than I can count. Decades of them. And lately… not so many. Mostly because I never seem to keep the ones I make. But the older I get, the more I realize something important: that might actually be a good thing.
Success in life isn’t found in being faithful to our plans.
If it were, most of us would have given up a long time ago.
Real success — the kind that reaches into eternity — is found in understanding and abiding in God’s purpose for us. Not the plans we build from our own strength, but the purpose He established before we ever breathed our first breath.
So if you’re going to make any kind of resolution this year, let it be a simple one:
Seek God’s purpose through His Word.
Not a promise to “do better.”
Not another list to perform.
Not a pledge powered by sheer will.
Just a quiet, steady resolve to listen… to learn… to walk closely with Him.
That’s the kind of resolution grace can sustain — and the only kind worth keeping.
