God the Creator
Definition:
God the Creator is the title that affirms God as the origin and designer of all things—visible and invisible. He brought the universe into existence out of nothing (ex nihilo) and sustains it by His power and will. All creation finds its source, purpose, and destiny in Him.
Biblical Basis:
Genesis 1:1 — “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Nehemiah 9:6 — “You are the Lord, you alone. You have made heaven… the earth and all that is on it…”
John 1:3 — “All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.”
Theological Significance:
Affirming God as Creator is foundational to the Christian worldview. It establishes His authority, reflects His nature, and grounds human value and moral responsibility. If God is not the Creator, then He is not Lord. But if He is, then everything—including us—belongs to Him. Creation is not a theological footnote; it is the first line of the biblical story and the lens through which everything else is seen.
How We Use It in DiscipleLife:
Every step of this journey starts with this truth: we are created. That means we’re not accidents, not our own, and not without purpose. God the Creator is not just the One who made the mountains—we walk them to know Him. This Expedition is about returning to the One who spoke everything into being… and still speaks today.
