Objective

« Back to Glossary Index

Definition:

Objective refers to truth or reality that exists independently of personal feelings, opinions, or perspectives. Objective claims are true regardless of who believes them or how anyone feels about them.

Biblical Basis:

John 17:17 — “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”

Psalm 119:160 — “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.”

Proverbs 30:5 — “Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.”

Theological Significance:

Christianity is grounded in objective truth. God exists whether we believe in Him or not. His Word is true whether it feels relevant or not. Objective truth gives us an anchor in a world adrift in personal opinion and relativism. Without it, faith becomes a matter of taste instead of truth.

How We Use It in DiscipleLife:

We aren’t hiking by vibes—we’re navigating by landmarks. This Expedition seeks to uncover what’s objectively real, not just what’s popular or personally comforting. God’s truth doesn’t flex with the culture or our mood. That’s what makes it trustworthy. That’s why we follow it.
