What If I’m Just Doing This On My Own?

Field Note, April 17, 2025 A question creeps in sometimes. It usually happens when I’m quiet and alone. I’m often staring at a half-finished essay or rereading what is already written. What if this is just me?What if I’m stringing words together because I enjoy it? Maybe it’s because I think I’m good at it.…

Field Notes from My Journey

Not every insight comes as a fully developed essay. Some arrive mid-step. They come quietly, personally, and sometimes uncomfortably. This happens as I walk with God and try to make sense of what He’s teaching me.

This section is where I record those moments. These are notes from along the way: reflections, realizations, and reminders that surface as the journey unfolds. When God Speaks, Everything Sings

Field Note April 10, 2025 There’s a thread that runs quietly beneath all things. It’s not always heard, but it’s always there. From the first spoken word in Genesis to the whispered truths of the Spirit, it holds the universe together. We call it sound. We call it music. We call it Scripture. But really,…

  • What If the First Step Is Unlearning?

What If the First Step Is Unlearning?

Field Note: April 6, 2025 I used to think the hardest part of following Jesus was learning what He wanted from me. Turns out, it’s unlearning what I thought I already knew. Admitting this is uncomfortable. Most of what I believed early on about God, faith, and discipleship did not come through study or Scripture.…
